Policy-making
- Co-ordinated representation of members' interests, by ensuring Public Relations and Public Affairs activities which reflects the associations' goals and targets;
- Provision of advice to international government bodies and multinational committees;
- Shaping legislation through collaboration with international bodies such as the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Economic Committee for Europe (UNECE);
- Intensive contact with other professional associations and organizations and co-operation with partner organisations such as the International Road Transport Union (IRU), the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR), the European Cold Storage and Logistics Association (ECSLA); and
- Enlargement of TI's political network
Technology
- Publication of technical documents for the manufacture and operation of temperature-controlled vehicles and equipment,
- Arranging for manufacturers of vehicles, refrigeration units, temperature recording equipment and other accessories to share their experience and knowledge,
- Detailed examination of all issues surrounding technical development and the harmonisation of design criteria; and
- Advice to hauliers on technical matters relating to transport and storage of temperature-sensitive products.
